Weekly Routine

Now that I'm mostly back on track (it took me four hours to clear my desk and pay bills yesterday!), I will share with you my daily focus/weekly routine:

Monday: General Tidying & Weekend Recovery

Tuesday: Focus on Laundry/Ironing as needed (wash rugs, etc)

Wednesday: Personal Day/Desk Day (pay bills, make grocery list, schedule beauty appts)
(This is also the day that my lovely housekeeper comes every other week)

Thursday
: Errands/Shopping (Groceries, thrifting)

Friday: Focus on Bedroom/Bath (change sheets, etc)
(Beren is off every other Friday so we try to keep this day open for each other, even if it's just doing "honey-dos" together)

Saturday: Focus on Outdoors (gardening, pool area)

Sunday: REST, Socialize w/Family/Friends, prepare for work week

Now, as I said before, if I keep up on things by doing a little each day, and since I have Josee do the deep cleaning every other Wednesday, there's no need for another heavy cleaning day. The key, again, is for me to keep to the daily routine and the weekly one falls into place. Easier said than done, I know!

How about you all? Do you have a weekly routine that you follow? How does that work for you?

Wow! Mine is less impressive.
M-F - get up at 4:45am get ready and go to work. Get off work at 3:30pm and run errands on the way back to the farm. Do farm chores (includes in this order 1. feeding many fury and feathered creatures. 2. What ever is most urgent!) Do that until the sun goes down and I can no longer see if I am standing on a snake.

All domestic chores are done on Saturday ..so I can spend Sunday with my husband.

Wanna bet your home is cleaner than mine???? snicker snicker and sadly, I am one who loves to have everything sparkeling clean and in its place.

Okay - now I understand why I never know what is the latest TV craze...

Julie, yikes! I'm exhausted reading your schedule.

I guess I forgot to add work in my routine, but since it's only part time most of the year, I'm usually home by lunchtime or shortly after.

We have spent so much time the last 2+ years rebuilding our home after hurricane katrina, that any normal schedule went out the window. We have been in our cottage now for 5 whole months, and I can finally say things are getting back to normal.
I just have a basic outline of things I like to get done each day (pretty much like yours), but I am still quite flexible if something pops up. My hubby has every other Friday off so we like to do things together, maybe go to lunch, whatever. There still doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day to do all things I would like to do!!

Another wonder posting! My weekly chores are mostly regulated to the weather -- and whether or not the car decides to run so I can do some shopping!

P.S. Loved your bread recipe too -- speaking of baking bread (such great timing!) -- it is Lammas Eve! The first of the harvest festivals, the time of the dark moon and the crone -- and a solar eclipse tomorrow!

I used to do Flylady, but now I don't have a routine anymore. I'm going to study yours for ideas of how to make a routine work for me again.

Love your new template.

Hi,

You seem to have everything planned out well, and I imagine this helps to make your life less stressful. My week is pretty dull until I go back to school full time each semester and then its basically the same thing most days of the week you know, study and do homework, plan meals, exercise, I love to have a routine. Blessings...

Every time I create a schedule, life happens and out the window my schedule goes. My son is getting married next Saturday so I feel like I am caught in the middle of a whirlwind currently. My husband and I work together so...we both need to work on our organizational skills. Enjoy this day of rest. Take some time for yourself. :)

Housework, schmousework!

Everything gets done on the fly around here - if it's fine and there's a load of washing needing doing, it gets thrown in the machine and on the line.

I cook and my man does the dishes; I wash, he does his and the kids' ironing :)
The bathroom and toilet and floors and stuff get done usually on the weekend, if I can discipline myself enough.
Dusting - every now and again.

I used to have everything in its place and everything sparkling, but I've let the standards drop over the past few years as I have too much other stuff to do - work, study, garden, craft, etc.

BUT am mightily impressed with your routine. Sure could do with a little more organisation myself! xx
