My mom smoked for 40 years and was diagnosed with Lung Cancer (small cell carcinoma) in May of 2001. She had a portion of her right lung removed and was given 12-14 months to live if she took both chemo & radiation. That was 8 years ago and she is still alive and doing fairly well. My dad, however, had lung disease from smoking and it will 2 years tomorrow since he passed away and I still miss him terribly. I have just quit smoking myself although it should never have taken me this long to quit after seeing how much they have suffered. My grandfather also died from lung cancer. It is a terrible disease. I know some of what you are going through with missing your mom because I was a daddy's girl, very close to my dad and I am still mourning his death. My thoughts are with you...Blessings,Elizabeth
Elizabeth, I am so sorry for your loss! I am right there with you, missing her more & more every day.You should be very proud of yourself for quitting, I know it's an incredibly difficult thing to do.
Rapunzel- You're so often in my thoughts and prayers. Sending you peace and comfort.
Thank you, Jan. xoxoxo
